Why it is prescribed (Indications) : This medication is monobactam antibiotic, prescribed for serious infections caused by susceptible gram negative bacteria like urinary tract infection, lower respiratory tract infection. It works by killing sensitive bacteria that cause infection.
When it is not to be taken (Contraindications) : Hypersensitivity; lactation
When it is to be taken : IV/IM Gram negative infections 1 to 8 g/day in divided doses depending on severity. Max: 8 g/day. Urinary tract infection 0.5 to1 g 8 to12 hours. IM Cystitis; Gonorrhoea 1 g as a single dose. Inhalation 75 mg 3 times daily (at least 4 h apart) for 28 days.
How it should be taken : Aztreonam is usually administered as an injection at your doctor's office, hospital, or clinic. Inhalation: Do not administer with any other nebulizer.
Special Instruction :
1. Do not use this medication if it contains particles, is cloudy or discolored, or if the vial is cracked or damaged.
2. Keep this product, as well as syringes and needles, out of the reach of children and pets. Do not reuse needles, syringes, or other materials.
3. Mild diarrhea is common with antibiotic use. However, a more serious form of diarrhea (pseudo membranous colitis) may rarely occur. This may develop while you use the antibiotic or within several months after you stop using it. Contact your doctor right away.
4. Hypersensitivity to other β-lactams.
5. Harmful to liver or kidney functions, and pregnancy.

Avoid long-term use, otherwise it will cause secondary infection.
Storage Conditions :
Intramuscular: Once reconstituted, it should be used within 48 hr if stored at 15-30°C or 7 days if stored at 2-8°C. Do not freeze it.

Why it is prescribed (Indications) : Auranofin is used to manage rheumatoid arthritis. It improves arthritis symptoms including painful or tender and swollen joints and morning stiffness. It has also been used in children for juvenile rheumatoid arthritis
and for psoriatic arthritis.
When it is to be taken : Auranofin is usually take once or twice a day. It must be taken on a regular schedule, as prescribed by your doctor, to be effective. The full effect of this drug is usually not felt for three to four months.In some people, it may take up to six months. Follow the instructions on your prescription label.
How it should be taken : Auranofin comes in the form of capsules.Your prescription label tells you how much to take at each dose.
Special Instruction :

It begins to take effect within one hour and continues to work for three to four hours. After your diarrhoea is controlled, you may be told to take atropine and diphenoxylate only once a day. Atropine
Generic Name : Atropine
TradeName : ATRO, ATROCIN OINTMENT, TOPIN
Why it is prescribed (Indications) : The atropine eye drop works by temporarily blurring the vision in the unaffected eye, thereby forcing the eye with amblyopia to be used. This strengthens it and improves vision.
When it is to be taken : Long acting mydiatic and cycloplegic for use in uveitis and during refraction. Corneal ulcer, keratitis, iritis. It has also shown promising results in the treatment of ambylopia.
How it should be taken : Adults: 1- 2 drops to be instilled in each eye. Ointment of use at night. Children: In infants maintain pressure over lacrimal sac for 1 minute. Ointment safe. Drops not recommended.

Contraindiactions: Narrow angle glaucoma, soft lenses.

Photophobia, local irritation, contact dermatitis, blurring of near vision, dialted pupils, palpitation.

Lymph nodes swelling; decrease in hemoglobin; and white blood cells.

Increased level of liver enzymes, jaundice.
HYPERSENSITIVITY:
Allergic reactions including hypersensitivity reaction, rapid swelling of the dermis, and skin rash.

Why it is prescribed (Indications) : This medication is prescribed for early breast cancer in women who have experienced menopause including women with disease progression after tamoxifen therapy. It is a non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor. It decreases the amount of estrogen the body makes.
When it is not to be taken (Contraindications) : Pregnancy, hypersensitivity, premenopausal women
When it is to be taken : Adjuvant treatment in early breast cancer; Advanced or locally advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women: 1 mg/day.
How it should be taken : This medication available in the form of tablet to take by mouth once a day, with or without food.
Special Instruction :
*It may cause dizziness. Avoid alcohol. *Caution should be exercised patients with history of moderate or severe liver impairment, excess fat. *Do the lab test for menopause if status is doubtful. *Bone mass density (bone mineral density) test should be conducted at the start of the therapy and at regular intervals thereafter.
Side Effects :
HEART:
Widening of blood vessels; hypertension; sudden cardiac death, blood clot in veins; insufficient blood supply to brain.
CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM:
Lack of energy, mood disturbances; headache; depression; sleeplessness; dizziness; abnormal sensations; anxiety; increased tightness of muscle; fatigue.
SKIN:
Rash; sweating, redness of the skin, mucous membrane infection.
EYE AND ENT
Inflammation of pharynx, clouding of eye lenses.
