TradeName : Ensamycin,Sisocin.
Why it is prescribed (Indications) : It is a bacteriocidal antibiotic used in the treatment of Conjunctivitis,Keratitis and Blepharitis and other ocular infections.
When it is to be taken : It is used as per doctor's instructions for the duration of the treatment.
How it should be taken : It is available as eyedrops which are instilled into the affected eye.
Special Instruction :
To be used with caution in renal and hepatic impairment,pregnancy
,lactation,Parkinsons and myasthenia gravis.Drug interactions may occur,so the doctor must be aware of other medications.
Side Effects :
Lethargy,confusion,conjunctival edema and retinal ischemia.
Other Precautions :
Contraindicated in hypersensitivity to any aminoglycosides.
Storage Conditions :
To be stored in cool place.It should be used within one month of opening.
