Why it is prescribed (Indications) : It is an anabolic steroid with erythropoietic activity.It is used in the treatment of Aplastic anemia and anemia of chronic renal failure. It is also used as an anabolic after severe illnesses,and in the treatment of post menopausal osteoporosis and metastatic breast cancer.

When it is to be taken : The dosage and duration of treatment vary according to the condition being treated.

How it should be taken : The drug is available as injections.

Special Instruction :
Enough proteins must be taken by patients recovering from debilitating illnesses.To be used with caution in cardiac,renal and hepatic disease,epilepsy and in elderly people.Diabetes must be monitored as the drug interferes with lab glucose tests.

Males Post puberty-Acne,decreased libido,nausea,diarrhoea. Pre puberty-Acne,virilism,chills,insomnia,hyperpigmentation,diarrhoea,nausea. Females Hypercalcemia,nausea,diarrhoea,chills, insomnia

Contraindicated in hypersensitivity,breast or prostate cancer,infants,pregnancy and lactation.
