Generic Name : Clobazam

TradeName : Aedon, Clodus, Clozam, frisium, Cobazam

Why it is prescribed (Indications) : This medication is used to treat seizure disorders. It belongs to 1,5 benzodiazepine class and reduces physcomotor depression.It has an antiepleptic activity which acts by binding to one or more specific GABA receptors.

When it is to be taken : Administer as IV injection every 8-12 hours in the case of childrens.In the case of sleep,administer 1-2mg/kg IM dosage and repeat SOS after 12-24 hours.In the case of epilepsy administer IV dose of 10-20 mgs/kg as a loading dose followed after interval of 5 minutes of 5-10mg/kg dose to be repeated for 20 minutes.Administer 30-210 mgs daily in divided doses in the cae of adults.

How it should be taken : The medication comes in the form of injectables.

Special Instruction :
Do not increase the dosage because you may get addicted.Do not stop the dosage without doctors advice.

Side Effects :
Drowsiness,fatigue,tiredness,loss of coordination,nausea,vomitting,dry mouth,tremor,depression ,rash,swelling,dizziness and breathing trouble are the common side effects of this drug.

Other Precautions :
Contraindicated in the case of pregnancy
and lactation.

Storage Conditions :
Store at 15-30 degree celsius.
