Why it is prescribed (Indications) : It is an antiviral drug which has inhibitory action against Herpes Simplex and Herpes Zoster virus.Is is therefore used in the treatment od Herpes zoster,genital herpes and herpes occuring in HIV infected patients.

When it is to be taken : The dose and length of treatment depends on the condition being treated and the prescription of the doctor must be followed exactly.

How it should be taken : It is available as tablets.

Special Instruction :
To be used with caution in renal disease and pregnancy.

Side Effects :
Headache,diarrhoea,nausea,vomiting,abdominal pain,dizziness.

Other Precautions :
Contraindicated in hypersensitivity and lactation.

Storage Conditions :
To be stored in airtight container out of reach of children.
