Overview : ACLOVATE Cream and Ointment contain alclometasone dipropionate, a synthetic corticosteroid for topical dermatologic use. The corticosteroids constitute a class of primarily synthetic steroids used topically as anti-inflammatory and antipruritic agents

Why it is prescribed
(Indications) : ACLOVATE Cream and Ointment are indicated for the relief of the inflammatory and pruritic (Ithcy or scab) manifestations of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses.

How it should be taken : Apply a thin film of Aclovate cream or ointment to the affected skin areas 2 or 3 times daily; massage gently until the medication gets disappear. How to apply ? Cover the affected area with a thick layer of Aclovate cream or ointment and a light gauze dressing, then cover the area with a pliable plastic film and seal the adhesive tape and do the same for 3 to 4 days.

Special Instruction :
Contraindicated to patients with the history of hypersensitivity to carticosteroid preparations.

Side Effects :
More common side effects may include: Acne-like pimples, allergic rash/inflammation, burning, dryness, infection, irritation, itching, pale spots, prickly heat, rash, redness, stretch marks on skin. unlikely to occur but report promptly the following side effects: unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea/vomiting, fainting, dizziness.

Other Precautions :
Avoid eye contact specially patients with Glaucoma, do not use infected and sore area. Consult with your doctor before breast-feeding. Discuss the benefits and risks with your doctor.
