Why it is prescribed
(Indications) : It is used to treat certain types of cancer (breast cancer, lymph cancer, lung cancer) in combination with other medicines.

When it is not to be taken
(Contraindications) : It may lead to hypersensitivity; severe bone-marrow depression, pregnancy and breast feeding.

When it is to be taken : IV Lymph cancer; Solid tumours Different licensed dosage regimens are available. 8 to12 g/m2 divided over 3 to 5 days, repeat course 2 to4 wkly. Germ cell testicle cancer with mesna and adequate hydration: 1.2 g/m2/day for 5 days, repeat treatment 3 weeks or after recovery from blood toxicity.

How it should be taken : This medication available in the form of injection administered by healthcare providers.

Special Instruction
:
*Empty your bladder regularly. Get up at least once during the night to urinate.*It may reduce the number of blood cells that are needed for clotting. To prevent bleeding, avoid situations where bruising or injury may occur.*It may irritate your kidneys and bladder. Drink adequate liquid during the treatment. This precaution is especially important if you have had chemotherapy before.

Side Effects :

Confusion, drowsiness, depression, agitation

Hairloss.

Nausea, vomiting,
MISCELLANEOUS:
Eye inflammation, sore throat, shortness of breath,

Other Precautions :

Monitor kidney functions, urine test, complete blood counts.

Storage Conditions :

Intravenous: Store at 20-25°C.
