Why it is prescribed (Indications) : It is used to treat certain types of cancer (breast cancer, lymph cancer, lung cancer) in combination with other medicines.
When it is not to be taken (Contraindications) : It may lead to hypersensitivity; severe bone-marrow depression, pregnancy and breast feeding.
When it is to be taken : IV Lymph cancer; Solid tumours Different licensed dosage regimens are available. 8 to12 g/m2 divided over 3 to 5 days, repeat course 2 to4 wkly. Germ cell testicle cancer with mesna and adequate hydration: 1.2 g/m2/day for 5 days, repeat treatment 3 weeks or after recovery from blood toxicity.
How it should be taken : This medication available in the form of injection administered by healthcare providers.
Special Instruction :
*Empty your bladder regularly. Get up at least once during the night to urinate.*It may reduce the number of blood cells that are needed for clotting. To prevent bleeding, avoid situations where bruising or injury may occur.*It may irritate your kidneys and bladder. Drink adequate liquid during the treatment. This precaution is especially important if you have had chemotherapy before.

Monitor kidney functions, urine test, complete blood counts.
