Generic Name : Fluocinolone

Why it is prescribed (Indications) : Fluocinolone is used to treat the itching, redness, dryness, crusting, scaling, inflammation, and discomfort of various skin conditions.
When it is to be taken : Fluocinolone is used two to four times a day. Follow the instruction on your prescription label carefully.
How it should be taken :
1. Fluocinolone comes in ointment, cream, and liquid-in various strengths-for use on the skin.

Special Instruction :
1. Use fluocinolone exactly as prescribed. Do not apply it to other areas of your body or bandage or wrap the treated area unless instructed to do so by your doctor.
2. Do not use it for a longer time than as directed by your doctor, and do not apply it more frequently than as stated on your prescription label.
3. Do not apply cosmetics, lotions, or other skin preparations to the treated area without consulting your doctor.
4. If you are using this medication on a child's diaper area, do not place tightly fitting diapers or plastic pants on the child.
5. They can increase the absorption of fluocinolone through the skin and decrease growth.
6. If your skin problem continues or worsens or if the treated area gets infected (red, warm, or swollen) or oozes pus, contact your doctor.
7. If you forget to take a dose, apply the missed dose as soon as you remember it and apply any remaining doses for that day at evenly spaced intervals. Do not apply a double dose to make up for the missed one.
Side Effects :
Although side effects from fluocinolone are not common, they can occur. Itching, burning, irritation, skin infection. Contact your doctor.
Other Precautions :
1. If you have an infection, inform your doctor before using this medication.
2. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should inform their doctors before using fluocinolone.
3. Discard any unused medication after your treatment course is completed.
4. Do not use it to treat other skin problems.
5. Do not allow anyone else to use this medication without a prescription, especially children.
6. Children are more sensitive to the drug than are adults, and another person's skin problem may be very different from yours.
Storage Conditions :
1. Keep this medication in the container it came in tightly closed, and out of the reach of children.
2. Store it at room temperature, away from excess heat.
