Generic Name : Loratadine
TradeName : Alaspan, Loridin, Lorin, Lorinol, Roletra, Snizid, Svlorat, Tirlor, Lorfast, Lormeg, Loronet
Overview : It is a long acting histamine H1 receptor antagonist and shows poor penetration into CNS.
Why it is prescribed (Indications) : Acute corzya, allergic rhinitis, allergic dermatological disorders.
When it is not to be taken (Contraindications) : Not advisable for Lactating mothers
When it is to be taken : Used in the case of Acute corzya, allergic rhinitis, allergic dermatological disorders.
How it should be taken : Adults: 10 mg daily as a single dose.
Children: Not recommended for children below 2 years.
2 - 12 years and body weight < 30 kg; 5 mg once a day;
body weight > 30 kg: 10 mg once a day.
Special Instruction :
Neonates, Infants, Pregnant women: Use with caution.
Elders: May be used in reduced dose.
Side Effects :
Fatigue, headache, nausea.
Storage Conditions :
Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed. Talk to your pharmacist
