Generic Name : Kanamycin

TradeName : Kanamac, kancin, kanamycin

Why it is prescribed (Indications) : They inhibit protein synthesis of bacteria by directly combining with ribosome.They disrupt bacterial cytoplasmic membrane.

When it is to be taken : It is administered as parentral route and its action lasts for 3 hours.Adminster 1 gram daily.

How it should be taken : It comes in the form of fluids.

Special Instruction :
Inform your doctor if you have impaired renal function and myasthenia gravis.

Side Effects :
Hypersensitivity and severe renal failure are the common side effects.

Other Precautions :
Contraindicated in th ecase of pregnancy and lactation.use with caution in th case of old age.
