Why it is prescribed (Indications) : This medication is prescribed for cancer treatment and also used for roundworm infection. It interferes with the growth of cancer cells and slows their growth and spread in the body. It is used in the treatment of colon cancer

When it is not to be taken (Contraindications) : Caution should be exercised in patients with history of preexisting blood disorders; during pregnancy and lactation; inflammation of joints, severe kidney problems.

When it is to be taken : : Oral: 50 mg orally every 8 hours for 3 days (starting 7-30 days post-surgery). It may be given as maintenance therapy for 3 days at 2 week intervals for 1 year.

How it should be taken : This medication is available in the form of tablet to take by mouth once a day, with food and glass of water.

Special Instruction :
It may lead to liver damage, and may cause skin, nose, and vaginal dryness, and may affect other organs of the body, including the kidneys, blood vessels, lungs, liver, pancreas, and brain(.Sjogren’s syndrome).

Side Effects :
CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM:
Memory loss, loss of consciousness, fatigue, tingling, seizure, speech disturbance.
MISCELLANEOUS:
Muscle weakness, difficulty in breathing, hives, swelling of lips, tongue, face, fever, chills.

Other Precautions :

Avoid changing dosage without consult with healthcare providers.

Storage Conditions :

Store below 25°C (77°F).
