Generic Name : Ciprofloxacin and Tinidazole
TradeName : Alcipro-TN,Avilox-TZ,Biocip-TZ,Cipran-CT,Floxy-TZ,Stop-IT,Tinro,Zoxan-TZ
Why it is prescribed (Indications) : This antibacterial combination is effective against both bacteria and protozoa.It is therefore used in the treatment of mixed infections,appendicitis,protozoal dysentery and post operative anaerobic infections.
When it is to be taken : The usual dose is one tablet twice a day for 5-10 days,to be taken 2 hours after a meal.
How it should be taken : Taken orally as tablets.
Special Instruction :
Fluid intake should be liberal.To be used cautiously in renal disease,history of seizures, and pregnancy.Alcohol intake to be avoided.Other drugs like Heparin must not be used along with this drug.
Side Effects :
Nausea,vomiting,headache,fatigue,depression,abdominal pain.
Other Precautions :
Contraindicated in hypersensitivity,children,lactation,blood and neurological disorders.
Storage Conditions :
To be stored in airtight place out of reach of children
